GOD'S COUNTRY starring Thandawe Newton another Sundance hit and many more. Documentary film AMAZING JONATHAN premieres at Sundance acquired by HULU and SPLIT AT THE ROOT premieres at SXSW now on Netflix . Due to the lack of female directors, stories & critics, Bailey FOUNDED The CherryPicks, a website dedicated to amplifying the voices of female entertainment writers & published film & TV critics. Miranda is a member of the Academy and is an accomplished SAG actress and who has appeared opposite Richard Gere, Parker Posey, and Ben Stiller, Dolly Wells, Juliette Lewis and many more. Her reel is available here and on IMDb. On the directing side, her debut documentary GREENLIT about the apparent hypocrisy’s of “greening” the film industry premiered at SXSW in 2010 and was nominated for the Spotlight award. Her next documentary THE PATHOLOGICAL OPTIMIST, a character study on infamous Dr. Andre Wakefield during a 7 year court battle with the British Medical Journal won the Manhattan FilmFestival & the Hollywood Filmfestival “Best Documentary”. Her comedic short narrative ANOTHER HAPPY ANNIVERSARY won best actress at NFLA and best comedy short at several short festivals. Miranda’s full length narrative comedy produced with Imagine Pictures, “BEING FRANK”, starring Jim Gaffigan and Anna Gunn premiered at SXSW in 2018 and won best comedy at several following film festivals ultimately released by Universal Pictures. Recently Bailey partnered with Lily Gladstone producing two films by Morissa Maltz about lives of Native American Women. As well as foreign language film JUNE ZERO shot in Isreal directed by Jake Paltrow and produced with her long time collaborator, Oscar Nominated, Oren Moverman which together they have made 3 films with several more in development. Miranda Bailey’s , latest producing & acting project starring Juliette Lewis will open the 2025 Sundance Film Festival . 🤗
