As an Archivist Intern at Isle of Wight Record Office, I have been applying my MLitt Archives and Records Management knowledge and skills to preserve, catalogue, and digitise historical documents and collections for over a year. I am passionate about enhancing the accessibility and usability of archival resources for researchers, educators, and the public.In addition to my internship, I have been volunteering as a Transcription Volunteer for the Transcribe Bentham Project at UCL since 2020, where I transcribe and encode manuscripts written by the philosopher Jeremy Bentham using TEI standards. I also have six months of experience as a Cataloguing Assistant Intern at Carisbrooke Castle Museum, where I helped to create and update records for their artefacts and exhibits. Through these experiences, I have developed strong competencies in palaeography, archival preservation, data entry, and Microsoft Word.
