-Manages the patient access function and all related activities, including verification of goals. -Provides direct oversight, and is accountable for, all patient access activities including registration, clearance, collections, and advocacy. -Implements standardized front-end practices at Centra Acute Care locations to meet best practice standards. -Approves or recommends personnel actions such as hires, fires, disciplines, etc. Responsible for supervisory performance appraisals.

-Serves as a Patient Access Department subject matter expert and resource for Managers and the Patient Access Centra’s policy and procedures and department workflow. -Acts as first point of contact for registration team member and provides feedback and handles trouble shooting as required. -Assists manager in educating registration staff of any changes pertinent to their roles of Patient Representative I’m assigned department. -Responsible for one on one education with new employees after orientation and classroom training.

-Responsible for developing and implementing strategies to grow hospital ancillary volumes. -Works closely with the Hospital executive team in developing and implementing provider and medical office staff outreach programs in the community to grow ancillary volumes. Closely works with marketing to coordinate activities. -Monitors and reports trends and opportunities to the Hospital executive team in physician referral patterns to the hospital with a focus on ancillary volume growth. -Identifies barriers to ancillary volume growth and develops strategies to overcome barriers. -Educates staff and monitors dress code, personal calls, and visitor policy compliance. -Promotes safety awareness with staff to maintain a safe work environment. -Reviews Admitting Department operations to ensure compliance with JCAHO. -Assists developing departmental budget.
