My early education was unique in that I was homeschooled until the end of grade 8. Upon entering high school I discovered a passion for learning which has only grown since being accepted into Western’s Integrated Science. Through WISc, the out-of-the-box thinking patterns that I developed growing up outside of the school system have been honed into practical creative thinking. Recently I have been given the opportunity to convert that passion and creativity into productivity across a wide variety of projects, working with interdisciplinary teams to achieve goals and solve scientific challenges. These experiences allowed me to develop key skills in both scientific and non-scientific areas of learning: Scientific - Statistical data analysis- Experimental design- Efficient research strategies- Report writing- Problem-solvingNon-Scientific- Project management - Effective teamwork - Persuasive presentation skills - Compelling brochure/poster/slide design- Video editingWhen I approach a challenge I bring my past learning to the table, along with a desire to learn. I believe that I can learn from any person or situation if I come in with the right mindset. I want to be challenged to step out of my comfort zone and apply my education and experiences in novel situations and unique environments.
