As the first data focused hire at Valutico, I am leading the overhaul of our data infrastructure from legacy service based data pipelines (ruby services, postgraphile, azure logic apps) to a modern data platform based on Databricks, mlflow, dbt and Snowflake.The new platform I designed and built massively reduced stored data size by roughly 90% while improving performance, maintainability and governance of data and machine learning pipelines.I am working with product, engineering, and executives to align data strategy with company goals.Our machine learning recommendations algorithms are based on clustering and RAG techniques, working with complex financial valuation data to build and deploy solutions for both batch and live serving.Part of my role was to drive initiatives for process and tooling improvements including documentation standards, deployment practices, and data governance. I am building and leading the internal data team of Python developers.
