As the R&D Managing Director at Camozzi Research Center, I lead a team of scientists and engineers in developing innovative solutions and technologies for the Camozzi Group, a global leader in industrial automation, machine tools and large scale Additive Manufacturing. With over 15 years of experience in applied physics and material science, I have a strong background in surface finishing, functional coating, composites, ceramics, reinforced polymers and 3D printing.My mission is to foster a culture of innovation and excellence, and to facilitate the transfer of knowledge and technology from the research center to the business units. I manage the R&D project portfolio, from ideation to implementation, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals and market needs of the group. I also collaborate with external partners, such as universities, research institutes, and public funding agencies, to leverage synergies and opportunities. Some of the projects I have led or contributed to include the development of ultra-hard ceramics and composites for ballistic defense, the development and production of high-performance carbo-ceramic materials for automotive, the large area 3D printing, and the deposition and customization of functional coatings for various applications.Throughout my career, I managed EU- and Government-funded projects worth more than 15 M€.
