Its mission is to create a generation of female content creators and leaders in the theater industry. Run by two Broadway producers, successful women in Broadway from stage managers to associate directors were brought in to talk to us about the different facets of the industry. I did the play writing track last year where my play was put up at the SheNYC theater festival. This year I will be producing and learning about the leadership side of the creative process. I learned the strength of female relationships and that there is a world where women can be successful and hold positions of power. I was a singer for School Of Rock NYC’s House Band. I had never really played live with band before. It made me really nervous to think that I might hinder someone else’s process or vice versa, but I really enjoyed the collaboration of it. I was playing with amazing, talented people, and when we’re listening to each other, getting into the rhythm of it, it’s so fun and thrilling.
