Run by two Broadway producers, successful women in Broadway from stage managers to associate directors were brought in to talk to us about the different facets of the industry. I did the play writing track last year where my play was put up at the SheNYC theater festival. This year I will be producing and learning about the leadership side of the creative process. I learned the strength of female relationships and that there is a world where women can be successful and hold positions of power. It was really awesome to meet women who were following their dreams and doing so successfully in a once male dominated field. Show less

I was a singer for School Of Rock NYC’s House Band. I had never really played live with band before. It made me really nervous to think that I might hinder someone else’s process or vice versa, but I really enjoyed the collaboration of it. I was playing with amazing, talented people, and when we’re listening to each other, getting into the rhythm of it, it’s so fun and thrilling. It’s taught me about teamwork, fearlessness, and humility. With its training it seeks to influence the next generation of artists, who vary in household income, socioeconomic status, race, gender, body, and sexual identity, to create a better, anti discriminatory world through their art.
