After graduating with a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from RMIT University in Melbourne Mirela commenced her career in the cement manufacturing industry moving into EHS&Q Auditing and Consulting for a number of years prior to returning to engineering and manufacturing in 2016. Mirela’s then commenced a role as the Associate EH&S Delivery Manager for Dow Performance Materials which has provided her with exceptional opportunities to lead the site in safety and compliance. In 2014 she graduated with a Masters in Social Sciences – Environment and Planning form RMIT University in Melbourne.  Mirela was the Dow ANZ Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) Coordinator where she worked with the team to amplify ground-up initiatives, pursue causes they believe in and stretch their abilities in areas where there may be challenges. Supporting, promoting and encouraging women in manufacturing and engineering is important to Mirela. For the past 3 years she has volunteered her time by participating/mentoring in The Women in Manufacturing Network (WIMN) which is an initiative of the Geelong Manufacturing CouncilMirela was also the Dow Women's Inclusion Network (WIN) Chapter Lead for ANZ, organising and facilitating events for the chapter in order to achieve greater equality through creating an inclusive platform for women in manufacturing and engineering. Mirela has recently joined Boral as the Environment Business Partner for Vic/Tas/SA.
