I am a Telecommunications Engineer in the Biomedical field. As a strong believer in the digital transformation, I am always looking to expand my personal and professional career by collaborating in innovative, meaningful and challenging projects that can solve relevant problems in our society, especially in the healthcare domain. In my current job I am focused on finding new sensors and algorithms to provide our wearable monitoring device with the best features. This exploratory process is allowing me to continuously acquire new knowledge and experience in data science and software development. Previously, I have worked in the group of Neurorehabilitation of the Cajal Institute (CSIC) applying techniques of signal processing and machine learning for a natural management of exoskeletons. I had already dealt with prediction algorithms as part of a biometric monitoring system which integrated a WBSN and a mobile app developed in my senior year of university. My work received three awards for the best final degree project from several institutions: MECD, ERICSSON and itSMF. Additionally, as a freelance professional, I have developped IT applications and SW on Android and Angular, creating adhoc solutions for each client. In each task, I try to clearly understand the problem in order to provide feasible suggestions and practical solutions. I advocate for doing things the right way, even if they require more time and dedication. I can work well alone, but I firmly opt for teamwork. My education has always been linked to the Higher Technical School of Telecommunications Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Madrid: first, with a 5-years Telecommunications Engineering degree accredited as a Master's level degree held in United States; then, with the Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering. However, I always try to expand my knowledge with courses from other entities such as the Institute of Education Sciences, Coursera or Udemy.

System EngineerLivemetric Jan 2019 - PresentLuxembourgAs a system engineer in the R&D team of LiveMetric, I develop new features for our innovative non-invasive blood pressure monitoring wristband within a worldwide distributed team.My job is focused on finding additional sensors and features to include in our wearable device, giving me the opportunity to gain experience on signal processing and machine learning algorithms development in Python. In the process, I am learning about medical signals, their acquisition and physiological origin, while working with public medical databases and data gathered with our own device. In addition, I have the opportunity to expand my versatility by collaborating with my colleagues on some Android, HTML or SQL tasks, for instance.* HW technologies: IMU, pressure sensors, PPG, sensor evaluation kit* SW technologies: Python, pandas, scikit-learn, Weka, Git, Unico, AWS, Grafana* Key words: signal processing, machine learning, blood pressure, MIMIC database, ETL, SQL, Finite State Machine -
Research EngineerCajal Institute, Spanish National Research Council Feb 2016 - Feb 2018MadridDuring my stay at the Neurorehabilitation Group in the Cajal Institute, I was in charge of developing a software system in MatLab for the acquisition and analysis of inertial data in real time. The goal pursued is to know the motor intention of the patient with spinal cord injury who wears an exoskeleton. To this end, my work included techniques of signal processing, finite state machines, pattern recognition and machine learning. On the other hand, I collaborated in the development of an Android application for the configuration and management of an exoskeleton. Besides, I was able to cooperate in the implementation of a simulation tool for artificial neural networks in Python, the creation of user interfaces in MatLab for different areas, and actively participate in rehabilitation projects for stroke patients using the technologies of transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), electromyography (EMG), electroencephalography (EEG) and functional electrical stimulation (FES).* HW technologies: IMU, exoskeleton* SW technologies: MatLab, Android, Simulink, Python* Key words: signal processing, pattern recognition, machine learning, states machine, neurorehabilitation -
Research Project Collaborator - Greendisc (Tec2012-33892)Faculty Of Computer Science, Complutense University Sep 2013 - Jul 2015MadridDuring my research stage at the Complutense University, I completed my final degree and master's degree projects. In the first year, I was in charge of integrating a set of biometric sensors (ECG, EEG, SpO2, GSR and temperature) to form a wireless body sensors network (WBSN). I completely developed a mobile application on Android that synchronized the data received via Bluetooth. The app also allowed filling out a form and registering certain events by the user. The implemented system served for a clinical study in patients with migraine, so I had the opportunity to work closely with health personnel within a multidisciplinary team. The acquired data were used, already in my second year, for the development of prediction algorithms based on artificial neural networks. I implemented, among others, spiking neural networks. On the other hand, I developed an Access desktop database for neurology consultations. All my work was part of the GreenDISC project. Among Its collaborators were included the Neurology Unit of the Hospital de la Princesa and members of the Integrated Systems Laboratory (LSI) of the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Technical University of Madrid and the Computer Architecture and Technology Group (ArTeCS) of the Department of Architecture of Computers and Automation of the Complutense University of Madrid.* HW technologies: Shimmer, Biosignals Plux, Bluetooth, ECG, EEG, SpO2, GSR, temperature, WBSN* SW technologies: Android, MatLab, Access* Key words: eHealth, healthcare, multidisciplinar team, algorithms, prediction, ANN, design patterns -
