About Miriam Avery

My career to date has included administration & social media management, event management including online events, community engagement and development, business development, & operational management of my own businesses, private enterprises & not-for-profit organisations. My own event management business was heavily focused on customer service and “delivering the dream” experience. I currently work as contractor as a PA, business development & social media manager which involves managing all event logistics, social media content creation & management, scheduling, & collaborating with many businesses and NFP stake holders. Managing my own business has given me firsthand experience in day-to-day operational management including using online/cloud-based systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Xero, Dropbox, Trello, Canva, Planoly, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked In, Eventbrite, Active Campaign, Mailchimp, Kajabi, Zoom, Google Meets, Telegram, What's App, website design, and website management plus skills in team leadership, time management, strategic planning, budgeting, communication, blog writing, media announcements, PR, and the ability to learn fast and on the job. Using all the above platforms has given me a strong administrative and IT skill set plus I have gained a large amount of experience in managing complex and difficult situations with the necessity to problem solve effectively and quickly. Working with brides in the wedding industry has given me extraordinarily strong interpersonal skills including knowing when to be diplomatic plus working within very tight, and sometimes, changing deadlines and time frames. My business relied very heavily on social media and online platforms to engage customers and build trust with them.Alongside my professional career I have always maintained a strong personal focus on volunteering for NFP groups. These roles have included planning, developing, strategising, & executing events online and offline. The experience I have gained in my career & voluntary work has given me a wide, and unusual, cross section of skills including strong operational and strategic management skills, assertive yet compassionate communication abilities, a strong understanding of what is happening in the community, plus knowing what it takes to get the job done.I am a passionate, hardworking, ambitious, fun, and engaging person with a “can do” attitude.
