Promoted to new role from working as a Studio Nurse at our New Orleans location. I report directly to our Nurse Education and Training Senior Manager and work closely with our HR team to recruit and acquire nursing talent for our new studios. Following up-to-date policies and procedures, I assist in updating training materials and provide insight into developing policy changes. I travel to new studios to educate new nurses on piercing safety/technique and retail operations alongside our District and Regional Managers.

Trained on needle and device piercing, I provided clients with a safe piercing experience and education on care throughout the healing process. I assisted in recruitment and training for new nurses. Collaborated with the studio, district, and regional managers and our corporate team to help coordinate day-to-day operations and with studio organization.

Provided excellent patient care working on a medical-surgical unit with an emphasis on orthopedics and neurology. During my time at EJGH, I took on the role of charge nurse; I managed floor staff, supervised patient care, and assisted my team members in direct patient care. I precepted our new hires and worked with a local university to mentor senior nursing students in their final clinical courses. I took part in an interdisciplinary committee with the purpose of improving the electronic charting process (Cerner) for team members hospital-wide. In 2022, I became and EPIC super-user and trained my team members in the transition from Cerner to EPIC.

My time at Forrest General was spent working as a floor nurse on a high acuity orthopedics-turned-dialysis telemetry unit. I was able to hone my beginning skills in assessments, telemetry monitoring, and time management. Collaborating with my team members was essential to providing great care, so I learned a great deal about teamwork in the healthcare setting!

I was employed with USM's Union and Programs department as a student facility manager during my undergraduate years. Under professional staff management, I oversaw daily operations for the Student Union and Thad Cochran facilities. I utilized data from event planning software to direct event set-ups and arrange audiovisual equipment. From student club meetings to weddings, working with guests to make their experience personalized was a high priority. The leadership and teamwork skills I gained at USM provided a vital foundation to my professional development.
