I am the chair of the Radboud Science Teams, a project in which we support primary school teachers to implement inquiry based learning in the classroom and academics to make their research findings comprehensible for school children. I am editor of the book series 'Scientific breakthroughs in the classroom'. I hope that these activities lead to inspiring children and (upcoming) teachers to be curious and inquisitive.

"Between the lines: a study into the cognitive, neural and endocrine underpinnings of generating communicative behaviours" with Prof. Ivan Toni and Dr. Iris van RooijWhat mechanisms underlie our ability to understand and manipulate the mental states of others? Is this ability social-domain specific or is it general-purpose? What are the neurobiological and endocrine mechanisms underlying human communicative capacity?During this project, I have initiated, set up, designed, analysed and published behavioural,neuroimaging and drug intervention studies. I find pleasure in collaborating with juniors and seniors of various disciplines inside and outside academia. As my work considered interactive communicative experiments, I became competent in getting quantitative handles on qualitative data. “The neural basis of human communication” with Prof. Ivan Toni and Dr. Roel WillemsI conducted, designed, analysed and wrote up a neuroimaging experiment. This lead to a scientific article on the neural dissociation of mentalising and linguistic abilities.
