COVAX is co-led by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), Gavi and the World Health Organization (WHO), alongside key delivery partner UNICEF. Its aim is to accelerate the development and manufacture of COVID-19 vaccines, and to guarantee fair and equitable access for every country in the world. As Senior Manager (Country Engagement), I establish and nurture effective relationships in English, French and Portuguese with select high priority LMICs to deliver COVAX-supported COVID-19 vaccines and related technical assistance (TA) to countries in their efforts to curb the pandemic. The work portfolio includes active engagement at global, regional and country levels in all relevant preparedness, access, delivery, administration and monitoring steps of COVID-19 vaccines and supporting technical assistance in these countries. I am equally responsible for facilitating access to HPV, PCV and RV vaccines in priority MICs and ensuring their equitable and sustainable inclusion in national routine immunization programmes. As focal point for North African middle-income countries, I also advise governments on strengthening their regional vaccine manufacturing and align with Gavi’s funding, operational and market shaping support.Selected achievements: - Managed delivery of over 110 million Covid-19 vaccines to LMICs.- Re-established access to vaccines for high risk groups in Ukraine amid conflict dynamics.-Led policy changes in LMICs towards governmental decision-making for new and sustainable vaccine introductions through advocacy and coalition building with diverse strategic partners across all governance levels.
