I work with teachers in exploring contemporary teaching models and promoting best practice. Classroom-based improvement is evidence- driven because teachers and students collect, analyse and act upon data to inform future learning. Feedback and evaluation are critical to the work we do. The needs of the student are the core of the work we do. A focus on the wellbeing of our learners ensures that they enjoy learning and make progress.

Contemporary LeadershipIn my role as Leader of Pedagogy, I worked closely with Middle leaders and teachers to identify the best strategies and opportunities to maximise student learning. I supported and promoted improved pedagogy and teaching practice in a practical way through active involvement in curriculum planning and through team teaching. I led and supported the Professional Learning Communities within my school and support teachers in their continual Professional Learning and Development. The Professional Learning focus at the school was on teachers learning through observation and collegial dialogue and I led initiatives to pursue this focus. Particular areas of focus included the embedding of Literacy, Numeracy and ICT into curriculum, involvement in planning for the implementation of the National Curriculum and networking with Primary and Secondary Schools within our sector.

Working with a colleague, we provided regular opportunities for teachers to develop their ICT skills through opportunities to use Web 2 tools to engage students in learning. This was executed through whole day workshops.

As Head of ICT K-12, I was responsible for leading the integration of technology into learning across all areas. This involved planning with teachers and supporting them in the use of technology to enhance learning. Furthermore, it involved the implementation of an e-learning platform for all students from Year 3. Strategic ICT decision-making, in consultation with the School Executive and the Director of IT, was a central part of the role. The planning and coordination of the school's one to one laptop program was a key responsibility.
