It was with great honor that I had the opportunity to return to my alma mater, the Apparel Design and Development program at Seattle Central College, but this time as a faculty member. Clear Coated is a rainwear brand built to create rainproof clothing and accessories that enhance and compliment, rather than hide, an outfit or personal style. All products consists of transparent fabrics and all waterproof materials. I design and creative direct Clear Coated Rainwear. The line began as my final design project in the Apparel Design and Development program at Seattle Central College (2010) and it continued to grow thereafter through an expanding customer base, editorial features and awards. Beginning in 2016 Clear Coated launched it's online store and began expanding as a business. My designs for Clear Coated are inspired by the wet weather of the Pacific Northwest, and embody the space where nature meets urban, featuring clean modern lines, functionality, aspects of space age fashion and notions of the future. - Implement creative direction of the brand- develop collection design and marketing plans- Administer production tasks: source materials and vendors, finalize costing, create calendar deadlines- Design: trend research, sketch, compile inspiration, source innovative materials and design pieces in the rainwear line- Create tech packs, patterns and proto samples to hand off to manufacturer for sample and bulk production- Marketing: photoshoot styling/planning, social media, website, sales, events, shows, retailer communications

Coal Headwear is an accessory brand based in Seattle, WA providing beanies, caps, hats, and neck warmers of all kinds. With it's roots in the snowboard industry Coal is focused on creating pieces that work well on the slopes as well as in the city.While at Coal, my responsibilities mainly consisted of the following:- Designed the Neckwarmer/Balaclava category (Technical Accessories); enhanced sales with on-trend innovations, designed top-selling units.- Collaborated with Design Director in trend research, created new developments and colorways- Managed Product Development: tech packs, sketches, sample tracking, fittings, spec reviews, submit approvals- Communicated with overseas & domestic vendors on a daily basis on development, design and sample tracking- Partnered with Brand Manager, Design Director, Graphic Designer, Production Manager to meet goals/deadlines- Assisted with trade show prep, and line showings to buyers

I began working for Zumiez Juniors Private Label full-time directly after graduating from the Apparel Design and Development program in 2010. I had interned for the same design team while I was in school and it was a nice transition going back to work with them as a full-time permanent employee once finished with design school. While at Zumiez I primarily worked on the following:- Communicated with overseas vendors on fabric/color approval, submit tracking, raw material info, style updates.- Designed Zumiez Juniors’ activewear categories: Board Shorts, Tech Fleece- Researched seasonal fashion trends by travel, magazine and online research- Worked with Design Team and Buyers to determine style details, silhouettes and colorways based on trends- Created and updated development details in sketches, tech packs, raw material details and bill of materials for all categories- Worked with Design Team to prepare, facilitate and give Line Presentations to Buyers.- Assisted Design Director with photo shoot styling
