About Mirjahon Turdiev
My belief in and passion for the equality of persons with disabilities in the contemporary global society lead me to advocating the achievement of equal rights of persons with disabilities with everyone. I have been realizing my passion and belief through professional, consulting, academic, voluntary and personal activism causes since 2008. My expertise includes development and implementation of community based living approach to solving the inequality, prejudice and social exclusion issues faced by the persons with disabilities as the alternative way to the institutionalization of children and adults with disabilities.I have also enhanced my training and leadership capacity building skills directed to an empowerment of persons with disabilities and their organizations as well as their family members as the drivers and self-advocates of social changes in favor of disability community. The previous experience in international development organizations reasoned my interest and curiosity in disability inclusive development as the alternative approach to the traditional stand alone disability projects. As a result, I have completed academic studies on CRPD vs. domestic disability legislation, Disability inclusive development and World Bank's rural education project from SDG 4 perspective, in particular from disability inclusion prism. And lastly, to maximize the disability rights awareness of society, I run blogs and public discussion groups on social media.
