Born in 1997, he obtained his Master’s degree in Civil Engineering for Natural Hazard Protection, with a specialization in structures, in 2023 from Roma Tre University. His thesis was titled "Accurate Safety Assessment of Existing Bridges according to LG2022". During his curricular internship at the Anas Cesano experimental center, he gained expertise in performing destructive and non-destructive tests on bridge decks and contributed to the writing of the paper titled "Shaking Table Test of a Simply-Supported Bridge Scaled Model". Following his graduation, he worked as a research fellow with the Department of Civil, Computer Science, and Aeronautical Technologies Engineering at Roma Tre University, as part of the MLazio project. Currently, he is employed by SafeBridge Engineering s.r.l. Mirko's research and professional interests include the static and seismic risk assessment of bridges, the development of analytical formulations for the preliminary assessment of bridge structural response, and the modeling of concrete, masonry, and steel bridges.

    Durante il periodo del tirocinio curricolare, svolto presso il centro sperimentale di Anas Cesano, ha acquisito competenze sull'esecuzione di prove distruttive e non distruttive su impalcati da ponte ed ha contribuito alla stesura del paper intitolato "Shaking table test of a simply-suppored bridge scaled model" il cui Abstract è di seguito riportato.Abstract:The paper presents an experimental study on the seismic behaviour of a specimen thatreproduces, in a small-scale model, a typical, simply supported, single-span bridge toidentify possible strengthening techniques that could improve its resilience. The study is partof the RAFAEL (System for Risk Analysis and Forecast for Critical Infrastructure in theApenninEs dorsaL Regions) project, whose purpose is to perform a risk analysis andforecasting to ensure the protection of different types of infrastructures (i.e., bridges,viaducts, tunnels) in Southern Italy.The model was tested on a shaking table by applying different seismic actions and usingthree different configurations for the bearings. The first configuration, which represents theactual state of the viaduct, was characterised by neoprene pads devoid of any shearconnection with beams and piers. The second and the third configurations correspond to thehypothetical design of two isolation systems: the first one using High Damping RubberBearings (HDRB); and the second one using Curved Surface Sliders (CSS).The preliminary results obtained from the experimental analysis of the three different bearingconfigurations are described, analysed, and commented on in this paper.
