As the Rich Media Team Lead, my responsibilities have grown to be focused on both internal issues as well as external issues and opportunities:Internally, this means I take on the more technically complicated builds, I research new techniques and methods and I set up workshops and tutorials for the Rich Media team.I also help colleagues setting up their quotes and ballparks based on my extensive knowledge of Rich Media projects.Externally, I join producer and account level colleagues in client meetings, I'm the main point of contact for a number of clients regarding technical enquiries and I often take an active part in pitches.

In 2010 I halted my freelance activities in favour of working at MediaMonks as a Flash Animator, part of a team of visual and motion graphic designers, illustrators and the like.Through our clients and together with my team I worked on digital campaigns for some of the biggest brands in the world.

During and after my studies I succesfully spent almost 7 years working as a freelance web designer. My clientbase was mostly comprised of start-up companies.Starting in 2004, I did most of my contract work in and around Utrecht, The Netherlands. During this time I specialized in designing and developing online media, such as flash, html and/or php websites, flash animations, banners and other web applications. In addition to these services, I also created corporate identities and various forms of printwork such as business cards, letterheads and folders.Working as a freelancer allowed me to practise a wide range of skills and proficiencies that would serve me well in my later career. In addition to learning to work with a large number of software suites and programming languages, it also taught me valuable lessons in communicating with clients on a professional level, project management, writing quotes and ballparks, business administration and most of all, being able to apply creative ideas in a commercial context.
