CVCA’s mission is to facilitate the creation of an environment that will foster Private Equity and Venture Capital investment in Croatia and the neighbouring region as an important ingredient for development and growth of entrepreneurship, capital markets and the economy in general. As President and one of the founders, I spearhead the organisation from the start and my main responsabilities include organising conferences, seminars and workshops for entrepreneurs interested in private equity and venture capital financing. I also engage in improving the legal and regulatory environment for private equity and venture capital development in Croatia and I work in close conjunction with national bodies (including BICRO, Agency for Promotion of Trade and Investment, Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK), Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP), Croatian Pension Funds’ Industry Association (UMFO)) and international organisations (World Bank sponsored project VENCRO, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), European Investment Fund (EIF)). In addition, I organise and participate at international competitions for private equity and venture capital financing as president or member of expert committee evaluating projects or company proposals in various sectors (CVCA/ VentureXchange competitions, Europe Unlimited, Balkan Unlimited, Start-up Weekends, VIBE). I am a regular speaker at international conferences, conducting reseach reports and presentations to deliver at such conferences. Most notable achievements in this role include:• Organising successfully the largest private equity gathering in the region, with over 400 delegates and 50 speakers, which was the Second Private Equity in SEE of 23 & 24 February 2010, Zagreb; • Acquiring a membership with the CEE Task Force, European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA); • Becoming a Member of EVCA National Committee.

TMA is a Professional Association of Corporate Restructuring Professionals with more than 9,300 members and 50 chapters worldwide. I assumed the key role in establishing TMA Croatia, local country chapter of TMA Global. The objective of TMA Croatia is to become a great forum to discuss the best practices in restructuring, establish international professional contacts and to source rescue capital to finance corporate recovery plans. From the beginning, I have been one of the key driving forces of TMA Croatia. From March 2015 to June 2017 I was the First Vice President and primarily in charge of Events and Public Relations. In June 2017, I was elected President of TMA Croatia. I organised several national, regional and international events for TMA Croatia.Most notable achievements in this role include:• Establishing a core team of corporate renewal and turnaround professionals to serve on the Managing Board of TMA Croatia;• Organising successfully TMA Croatia Launch Event with high profile international speakers;• Participating as an active member in the Croatian government appointed task force group in charge for producing recommendations for financial restructuring; • Orchestrating the TMA Croatia’s first large project, the issuance of the book: "Challenges of the New Insolvency Act – Closing Gaps or Opening Loopholes?", as the volume's editor and author pulled prominent insolvency experts, including judges, lawyers, consultants, economists and public service experts in the field; the book was published in English and Croatian on 01/09/2015 (date when the New Inslovency Act came into force).

As the Assistant Minister, I assisted the Minister in strengthening Croatia’s international position to join European and transatlantic political, security and economic integrations and I ensured the satisfaction of conditions required to fulfil international obligations, and establishing good neighbourly relations and co-operation with neighbouring countries, in order to strengthen Croatia’s economic position, and promote Croatia’s general image. I also played a pivotal role in developing and encouraging the practice of analysing economic consequences of integration, especially through the economic impact assessment of the adoption of acquis communitaire on the Croatian economy. Most notable achievements in this role include: • Head of Directorate for Integration Strategy that provided analytical support for the Croatian integration process into the EU.• Coordinated the production of analytical material on the current EU issues and their impact on the Croatian economy and accession process and coordinated the drafting of the National Programme for the integration, particularly chapters relating to the fulfilment of economic criteria.• Assisted in setting up the database for Croatian negotiation team and its support during the negotiation process of Croatian accession in the EU.

At Merrill Lynch, I was a key member of the European Structured Finance Group (ESFG), a team of approximately 30 professionals responsible for structuring cash and synthetic securities for European banks, insurance companies and other corporate clients. I conducted extensive analysis of potential structured finance opportunities, devised proposals and approached clients offering customised solutions to achieve their investment, capital regulatory, cash raising, tax affiance and other objectives. I have acquired in-depth knowledge of the creation of structured finance products including ABS, MBS, CDO, credit derivatives and tax related securities and knowledge of devising marketing and primary placement strategies for structured finance securities. I assumed several important roles in all phases of structured finance transaction process averaging US$750 million per transaction. My duties included structuring and offering financial products to corporates, sovereigns, municipal issuers and sophisticated high net worth clients as well as assisting in the securitization and creation of leveraged notes linked to various debt instruments, creating both conservative and high-risk investment vehicles for clients. I performed rigorous due diligence on companies from sectors including banking, shipping and tourism and participated in drafting offering memorandums and other legal documents related to the issuance of securities from such companies.
