I am highly-skilled in Corporate Finance, Private Equity & Venture Capital with more than 25 years of experience in the finance industry. My main area of expertise is in direct investment issues and incentives for Croatia and South-East Europe (SEE). Most recently, I have expanded my expertise on sustainability leadership, corporate responsibility, climate change, and strategy for environmental, social and governance (ESG) engagement. I have set up VentureXchange Ltd., a boutique consulting firm, initially specialised in access-to-finance research studies for the international financing institutions (IFIs) looking for market development or investment opportunities in SEE. VentureXchange Ltd. services include financial and business advisory services for investors and corporates including strategy for ESG engagement, scaling up, turnaround/restructuring; private equity and venture capital advisory services including deal origination and integration of ESG objectives at the fund and portfolio company level; and bespoke market research for clients. For a decade, I have successfully combined the high-profile consultancy assignments and academia, working as a Lecturer at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. I have orchestrated the establishment of Turnaround Management Association Croatia (TMA Croatia) and the Croatian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (CVCA).Considerable experience has been gained in understanding and implementing the Croatian Economic Policies and the EU integration issues having been an Assistant Minister in the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration during the time of Croatia’s integration into the European Union. Before my return to Croatia in 2004, I was based in London and held corporate and structured finance positions at major investment banks, including Merrill Lynch, BNP Paribas, and Credit Agricole Indosuez.I am a dynamic communicator, fluent in 6 European languages, with strong presentation skills acquired through regular participation in many international conferences. As President and one of the founders, I spearhead the organisation from the start and my main responsabilities include organising conferences, seminars and workshops for entrepreneurs interested in private equity and venture capital financing. I also engage in improving the legal and regulatory environment for private equity and venture capital development in Croatia and I work in close conjunction with national bodies (including BICRO, Agency for Promotion of Trade and Investment, Croatian Chamber of Commerce (HGK), Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP), Croatian Pension Funds’ Industry Association (UMFO)) and international organisations (World Bank sponsored project VENCRO, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), European Investment Fund (EIF)). I assumed the key role in establishing TMA Croatia, local country chapter of TMA Global. The objective of TMA Croatia is to become a great forum to discuss the best practices in restructuring, establish international professional contacts and to source rescue capital to finance corporate recovery plans. From the beginning, I have been one of the key driving forces of TMA Croatia. From March 2015 to June 2017 I was the First Vice President and primarily in charge of Events and Public Relations. In June 2017, I was elected President of TMA Croatia.
