Almost 20 years in the Technology sector, my career journey has provided me with diverse experience in the software development lifecycle. Taking various roles within all areas of SDLC has helped to better understand the detailed tasks with each job. This give me the unique ability to provide leadership specific to all areas of developing business solutions.From leading inContact Software Development to the early years of writing code for Morty Systems, a startup, I've been involved with all aspects of developing technology solutions; setting corporate direction, business lead for all products, planner – incorporating market and client requests and being a successful leader in a product development company.Having worked in entrepreneurial start-ups to very large organizations, I have the ability to combine traits; a cost focused mentality to a process and regulatory structure of a larger scale organization. I've also had the privilege of being involved in five major M&A’s. I say privilege as it truly is a great learning experience and my personal view is that learning leads to progress. I’ve been told that my strongest skillset is natural leadership, as I have an emphasis on helping individuals grow, be it personally or in their career. This includes coaching my 6 year olds hockey team to learning more about team member’s skills to achieve more and be happy doing it. After all, technology people like delivering technology so the more they accomplish, the more engaged they are. I have the same view personally. Some of my biggest accomplishments are related to being part of a team that successfully delivered software solutions. Recently, for the winter months, I joined a men’s ice hockey team, which may not sound like a big deal but being just over 40 and joining your first men’s ice hockey team is quite the feat. Taking into account my career experiences, what better way of teaching my 6 year old than for me to go out and learn it as well.
