UAHT’s mission is end human trafficking through educating the community, preventing exploitation, and empowering survivors.I have had opportunities to work in several key roles within the United Against Human Trafficking organization and most recently specialized in training for frontline professionals such as healthcare providers, law enforcement, and social services.

I have had the great opportunity to work in several key roles within the nonprofit organization and currently focus on program development. Some of my current duties include:■ Administrated the United Against Human Trafficking Coalition (formerly Houston Rescue & Restore Coalition), comprised of 55+ organizations to increase collaboration within the anti-human trafficking movement across the Houston metropolitan area.■ Organized and facilitate networks, meetings, and trainings to further the work of the coalition.

■ Developed projects and programs to decrease the demand for labor and sex trafficking.■ Manage program evaluation tools and conduct analysis to measure long-term efficacy of the organization’s Education Programs.

■ Developed, managed, and supported implementation of programs and projects that supported the organization’s vision and short- and long-term plans■ Facilitate technical trainings for frontline professional groups such as law enforcement, first responders, and social service providers around the Houston metropolitan area■ Provide consultations and technical assistance to other anti-trafficking organizations, community groups, faith-based communities, news and media outlets, and individuals

■ Oversaw program staff for the development of awareness initiatives and educational programs■ Led the Houston Rescue & Restore Coalition of 30+ members to develop and implement the first strategic plan for the collaboration

Boat People SOS is a national Vietnamese American community organization with the mission to "empower, organize, and equip Vietnamese individuals and communities in their pursuit of liberty and dignity." After a brief time as an intern with the Legal Department, I joined a team of 8 attorneys, paralegals, and assistants to assist in providing legal services for those affected by Hurricane Ike, the natural disaster that struck the Houston area in 2008.As a Legal Secretary at BPSOS, my duties included:■ Created intake forms for gathering information about new and potential clients■ Developed processes and procedures for cataloging and indexing client information by using Microsoft Word forms and Excel spreadsheets■ Utilized Microsoft Access to enter and store client information in a master database■ Assisted Citizenship and ESL classes■ Conducted mock-interviews to prepare clients for their USCIS Naturalization Interview and TestBPSOS provides many services to the Asian and Houston community at large. The Houston office offers programs in legal assistance with family law, immigration, and other civil law matters, direct services to survivors of domestic violence and natural disaster, as well as health and wellness programs for the community.
