🌏 Unofficial role I've created to develop and implement sustainable solutions to reduce costs, waste, lead time, environmental impact, and improving customer value.This is an unofficial role that I’ve created after I was selected to become an official Philips sustainability ambassador. With this I’ve extended my role within Philips to lead the department. With the main aim to create and implement business cases into manufacturing, decrease the environmental footprint, and reduce costs. Main achievements:• Ideation, development, and implementation of a low effort solution that reduces the energy consumption in production with at least 5.000 kW/year.• By initiating a project, after analyzing the production process, with the potential to use 1600 less packaging boxes per year and enable production to produce 2 more systems per year (Impact of at least 2M€/year).• By ideating and drafting a process optimization for the re-use of transport frames in supply chain with potential re-use saving of 2,7M€ annually (900T material/1 kT CO2). To further improve the process, reduce storage space, and improve re-usability I've investigated, and triggered R&D to make the design of these transport frames modular.• Made engineers and project managers aware (at least 20 people) of the role sustainability can play in the supply chain as a driving factor to optimize the flow and use of materials while reducing (long-term) costs (and possibly lead time). As well as trained on where in the business processes to intervene to trigger sustainability-related changes in the supply chain and in product design.
