Mischa Classen is a Carbon Professional with a strong focus on carbon accounting methodologies in various schemes and aspects of their governance. A specific feature of his professional background is the broad experience with different designs of global climate change regulation, entailing both non-capped (offset schemes) and capped environments (emission trading schemes). He was managing regulatory risks and methodological issues under the CDM, consulting organisations on governance of carbon schemes, as well as advising ETS installations in managing their exposure in a carbon constrained environment and against regulatory developments. For the Swiss government he contributed analytical pieces for the development of the Swiss CO2-law and calculated allocations for a number of installations. In his positions he established a wealth of contacts to regulators, consultants and project developers in the carbon space.Mischa holds a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences (focus on Environment Chemistry) from the Swiss Federal Institute for Technology, Zurich.
