It's been All Politics, All the Time for me and my family. I started out as a sixties trouble-maker based out of a suitcase (mostly, tho, I lived in DC); then became a political writer (columnist for a few Boston newspapers; publisher of two Statehouse-oriented newsletters, and co-author of a bio of '88 presidential candidate Mike Dukakis); and since '94 I've been the founder and owner of InstaTrac Inc., and the newer InstaTrac Development Inc. (a creator of legislative tracking service software).A new 'best in the nation' tracking service for Massachusetts legislative professionals was launched in October of 2013. An update with even better features and functionality will be launched in the fall of 2014. The political/governmental bug also infected my family: my wife, Cathy Dunham, is a long-time national health reformer; now works with a Boston-based affordable housing organization: Preservation of Affordable Housing (POAH). And our son, Konrad Schlater, is an economic development and affordable housing specialist based out of Chicago (where he and his wife, Maria Hawilo - an outstanding attorney for many years with the DC public defender service - have made two of the cutest, happiest, most beautiful children starting in 2011).
