Passion for scientific discovery started my journey and is the one that keeps it going. I am a second year biomedical student in University of Plymouth on the path towards building a career in bioinformatics and biotechnology field. Born in raised in Moldova, a tiny Eastern European country - I took a leap into relocating and completing international A-level studies at INTO University of East Anglia, followed by starting university. My life could never be boring, so I volunteered as a first aider and tutored English online alongside. To be fair, I got into teaching and tutoring way before moving, because I'd always thought that sharing knowledge is key to better the environment around us. I have completed summer internship in National Center of Genetics and Reproduction in Moldova (Chisinau), enhancing my laboratory skills. Those include:- preparing and running agarose gel electrophoresis- PCR, qPCR (assisting)- using spectrophotometry to manage sample concentrations - CE (assisting)I am familiar with certain applications of programmes such as UGENE and SnackVar, such as:- designing primers - analysing and interpreting fragmented analysis resultsI feel confident using Microsoft Office and learning Python programming language. Vast teaching experience gave me confidence in public speaking, ability and passion towards presenting my findings and knowledge to wider audience.I think that expertise, creativity and teamwork is the future of advancing science.
