I am co-founder and director of Terraforming, an independent non-profit NGO based in Novi Sad, Serbia, working on improving teaching and learning about the Holocaust, strengthening memory culture and combating antisemitism. Terraforming develops educational methodologies and teaching materials combining best practices in contemporary pedagogy with new-media technologies. Most of our activities are related to different aspects of teaching and learning about the Holocaust, promoting human rights, diversity and tolerance, and combating discrimination, intolerance, antisemitism, antigypsyism and all forms of xenophobia. I am the author of the “Ester” concept and a series of educational graphic novels about the Holocaust.As an NGO professional I have more than 15 years of international experience in project development, fundraising, consulting and project management in the nonprofit sector. I work particularly with setting up cross-sectoral international project cooperation and exchange programs between research institutions, universities, memorials and museums, archives, local communities, governmental bodies and independent actors. Also, I have a long experience in organisation of public events, and audio, video and online media production. I give workshops about teaching and learning about the Holocaust, educational approaches to teaching about the genocide of the Roma, media literacy, antisemitism, antigypsyism and other forms of xenophobia, and I speak about my experiences as a refugee from Yugoslav wars. I created a number of teaching materials, publications, exhibitions and online resources about the Holocaust, antisemitism and antigypsyism.I am a member of the Serbian Delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) where I participate in the Education Working Group and the Committee on the Genocide of the Roma. The IHRA unites governments and experts to strengthen, advance, and promote Holocaust education, remembrance, and research worldwide and to uphold the commitments of the 2000 Stockholm Declaration. Whenever I manage, I love playing vintage electronic organs in my psychedelic rock band Dynamo Irie or composing and recording electronic soundscapes as Captain Sorrow and Primitive Dance :)
