Digital Strategist
As part of the staff I work on managing the museum's online social media profiles, managing virtual exhibitions and oversee the wholesale media presence of the Croatian History Museum. I work with maintaining a virtual identity as well as develop a digital strategy of the Museum. Latest milestones of this digital strategy resulted in 30% more followers and 20% more engagement on the Instagram page in the last 3 months. The team I managed further developed a strong experience using Facebook and Instagram ads with low budget costs. This strategy executed in 2 weeks accumulated over 3000 new visitors on the museum's webpages with virtual exhibitions. On top of that, the data analysis of the social media and web was used to make user-specific interest in mind. Furthermore, as a part of better optimizing museum object's database I developed specific item localization system for over 2500 objects. This project was done with collaborating with the IT department and presented to colleagues in other museums. Lately I took interest in data science and data analytics and started applying these principals into my work.
Museum Curator
I started working as a museum curator of military uniforms and flags collections of the Croatian History Museum. One of many obligations I have as a curator is managing projects, closely working with the museum's professional staff on gathering, preserving, restoring and safeguarding the material testimony of Croatian history. Systematization of items is mandatory as well as scientific and scholarly research so as to prepare and develop a quality concept for a well thought out exhibition. Recently I have managed a lot virtual exhibitions where I had to balance working with the IT department as well as management. This resulted in accumulating 30% more online visitors. The main idea was to switch the real life museum experience online and the team I managed successfully did the transition in just 3 months with low budget costs. On top of that, I developed the museum's Plan of Functioning During Crisis which is a strategic document that prioritizes and estimates the exact steps to follow for the museum to function safely. One of these steps if also switching the work digitally which is was done in the museum by organizing in groups, which were applied in 2020 during the COVID lock downs. This period field tested the document and proved it to be of extreme value as the museum visitors became online users numbered in 10 000's at the end of the year, which was a great achievement in such a short period of time
Editor
I was a part of the editorial staff of Pro tempore historical magazine at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb. My work was comprised of reviewing and commenting on articles that are published within the magazine. I was also writing my own article with the main theme being military history. During my work I edited, reviewed and worked on publishing 12 peer review scientific articles. This resulted in publishing a scientific magazine that was accepted by the scientific society.
Contributing Writer
I wrote articles in English, focused towards business, economy and technology for MediaScan on the daily basis. MediaScan was a neutral vantage point, advocating no side in the complex tangle of parties, organizations, interest groups, factions and groups dominating the Croatian political, social and business scene. These articles serve as an unbiased interface between the Croatian media and international officials, regional and international businesses, journalists, media houses, researchers and others interested in Croatian affairs and developments as seen in the media landscape. The work comprised of writing and translating 5 articles daily.
Journalist
I wrote 3 research articles weekly with topics concerning education, science, technology and economy. Main focus of all of my articles is thorough research and comparing of gathered information with a particular emphasis on looking at both sides of picture. In particular the research articles accumulated a big amount of regular readers and gathered 100's of comments from them.
Intern
I worked as research intern in the Center for military studies and Social sciences in Potsdam, Germany. During my internship I participated in 5 international presentations and discussions about hard historical events in Germany such as the 200 anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo, Bombing of Potsdam and psycho trauma of the victims in WWII. These "hard" topics helped me develop great communication skills even with the most particular and possibly controversial topics. As a part of my internship I also conducted a research of literature and sources and wrote a paper that was reviewed by the Center's scientists. On top of that I translated 15 Croatian documents, as well as a school diary, from the World War II period, to German. Also during my stay and internship, I took part in organized visits to the Ministry of defense of Germany in Berlin, as well as a visit to the Dresden military museum where I developed a great sense of presenting scientific and story driven topics to the wider public.
