About Soudamini Shankar
My passion for children's literature has manifested in the form of several manuscripts and my characters have largely been anthropomorphic in nature. I love creating different worlds with words and my stories are speckled with relatable, real-world scenes, and settings. I graduated M.A. in Communication Sciences & Disorders from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. As part of my clinical training during undergraduate studies in Mangalore, India, and graduate studies at Greensboro, I have worked closely with several school-age children with communication disorders. This experience was valuable to me as a children's writer, as it helped me gain an intimate understanding of what tickles the minds of young readers.I have also assisted in conducting a book drive for a Title 1 elementary school for a language and literacy camp for low income African American children with speech and language disabilities.Do swing by my personal blog https://missmini.home.blog/ :)
