Working as an Account Handler over both PR and Media accounts, my role is to act as a spokesperson for my clients in order to generate positive coverage and maximise profit, as well as effectively delivering quality media campaigns and marketing services. Some of my clients require only PR services and others only media buying and planning however I also works over both disciplines for several of my clients. Responsibilities include:PR- Continual contact and relationship building with print and online press in the relevant markets on a national and international basis- Drafting extensive press materials, including releases, press packs, PR plans and post event/campaign reports- Supplying and selling in our client’s product/service/story to target journalists and publications- Maximising coverage opportunities to ensure coverage in desired media wherever possible- Planning, co-ordinating and attending press events/launches for her clientsMedia Buying & Planning- Fostering good relationships with all media owners/groups and communicating my client’s expectations to them. Often this involves proactively meeting with media owners to maintain close relationships on an individual basis- Providing complete media services to her allocated clients, embracing planning research, negotiating, buying and the running of media campaigns – some spanning from several months to a year- Supplying media intelligence to clients wherever relevant on a proactive basisGeneral- Extensive research of her client’s market so she can anticipate their requirements- Billing of all client media spend or chargeable expenses to ensure good financial controls are executed on all her accounts- Being the day to day contact for all her clients and implementing effective relationship management processes- Working alongside other media, PR and marketing agencies to synchronise communications with their strategies
