I’m an experienced design consultant, facilitator, trainer, speaker and writer with clients ranging from fmcg companies to central government. My background is in service design but over the past decade I’ve focused on developing an expanded toolkit that brings together design thinking, systems thinking, data and economics; working on projects that combine environmental, social and technology themes.Most of my work involves helping to facilitate design processes and capabilities, from helping to create and grow new services and startups to building design capacity in large enterprises. As a design manager I’m also connecting design efforts across organisations helping to foster a design culture at every level and establish design as a strategic role.I’m also involved in a number of projects intended to push design forward and connect it with other disciplines. In the past I’ve worked on legal design and data for design projects; most recently I co-founded Design and Economics, which launched in April 2021 with an unconference.I’m Course Leader on the Service Design MDes at Ravensbourne University; I’ve co-authored two articles for Touchpoint—the Service Design Network’s journal—and spoken at a number of key, industry conferences including the Service Design Network Global Conference and Service Design in Government.
