About John Trevor-Allen Fclip

Internationally recognised leader in the Information Profession and in charity governance. I bring a broad range of strong strategic skills, having lent my experience to a number of roles, including as a CEO of Three Rings CIC and as a Trustee of the National Library of Wales, of CILIP and of the Family Rights Group. A past Chair of the CILIP Board, of the international RDA Board which governs the RDA metadata standard, and a confident and experienced communicator and speaker at national and international conferences, I am extremely well-versed in policy development and stakeholder management. During my time with CILIP I served on the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, and chaired the and Ethics Committee, in which capacity I helped lead the review of the CILIP ethical framework. I served as CILIP Vice-President throughout 2022, and CILIP President 2023, championing professional development and pioneering the recognition of the CILIP 125 List to celebrate the up-and-coming leaders of tomorrow. In 2007 I was privileged to join the leadership of Three Rings CIC, where I have driven and delivered our strategic direction as we grew to be one of the leading volunteer management solutions in the third sector, providing enterprise-grade volunteer management software to enable local, national, and international charities and voluntary organisations to reduce their overheads and increase their efficiency.I also serve as a Academy-appointed School Governor at a rural primary school within a MAT, and as Health Librarian with the UK Health Security Agency, in which role I generated weekly Covid-19 briefings for the Secretary of State and CMO during the Pandemic. Professionally, I am recognised as both a Fellow of CILIP and a Leading Practitioner of the Federation for Informatics Professionals in Health and Social Care.
