Hi my name is misti crocker.I have been a care provider for many years 10+ years, my last job was with a 96 year old lady named Mary Head, one of the original Rosie the riveters. She is still alive and I am still in contact with her and the family. I had to resign from her caretaker because my husband and I relocated to the Sacramento area and she is in Richmond. I was her provider as a live in 24hr care. I dispensed her medications helped with daily living and exercise, prepared meals, and even did her late night pampering. I socialized, interacted and became a main part of her life. Together we formed a routine and we're able to learn more about her dementia and personal needs and how to implament a care plan to fit her needs as well as those caring for her. In this time I integrated a system in her home and taught the other members of her care how to use it. Thus bringing her more safety, independence, and comfort for all involved. The system is still in place today and she is monitored by anyone of the people involved in her care that has the proper information to access it and by the company which it is furnished by so no matter when or where she is always being monitored. I was also her best bingo buddy we got involved in social events at the senior center and even outside of the center. I am a very compassionate person and I am intrigued by our elders. I feel they have been there done that and they deserve to be treated with respect and know a lot about life we could only wish to know.
