Medical Assistant/Back Office Coordinator February 1998 - April 2008 Baptist Healthcare Systems /Baptist Pediatrics Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (Drs. Horn, Lazoff, Granat, Walker, Atkins, Emanuel, Paton, Silberman, Fordan and Tarbox)Front and back office duties: Assist front office specialists with patient scheduling, patient charts, medical records management, incoming labs, patient triage, assist 9 physicians with Pediatric Well Baby and Acute Care Procedures, (H&H, vision and hearing screening, urinalysis, urine cultures/uroplates, strep, flu and nasopharyngeal cultures, SQ, ID and IM Injections). Responsible for patient information packets and referrals to specialists to help coordinate care. Supervisory duties including interviewing/ hiring process, scheduling, training and other administrative tasks. Upkeep of all patient information packets, annual Flu surveillance/ ordering/ shipping/ communications between Dr. Horn and CDC when needed. Ordering immunizations and medications for crash cart, general upkeep on litmus & audio equipment, calibration of scales and centrifuge, back office and lab supplies ordering from downtown hospital pharmacy/medical supply companies.

Front and back office duties: All Emergency Room Procedures, assisting Physician with patient care and surgical procedure (circumcision, toenail removals, wart removals, light post removals... Kidding ( just checking ) Patient scheduling, patient charts, referrals, phone triage, medical records management, computerized billing, insurance processing with ICD-9 and CPT coding, vital signs, patient triage, SQ, ID and IM injections.

Duties included: Medical records management, appointment scheduling, business communications and correspondence, patient care re: vital signs, patient triage, venipuncture, injections, assisting with examinations, assisting with minor surgery, processing lab samples, CBC and urinalysis.
