Assisted with the facilitation of child-directed weekly support groups (and day camps) at different homeless shelters around the Dallas area for the Rainbow Days programs. The program targets children whose high-risk situations (ie: transitional living arrangements and/or history of abuse) place them at elevated risk for future behavioral and health problems including substance abuse, delinquency and violence. Lessons centered around increasing autonomy, social competence, interdependence, problem-solving, healthy choices, self-worth, goal setting, identifying feelings and other empowering messages.
