This certification and position are on going short term as needed to fulfill various CG missions such as hurricanes, floods, migrant ops, etc. I am given various sets of credentials needed for candidates to fill a needed position at the incident. I then use several human resource databases to input criteria, run reports and find best fit matches to fill the position. This is a dynamic environment requiring turn around times to be weeks or mere days.

Yeoman-The "SSS qualification" I hold in the Coast Guard refers to the qualifications and requirements necessary for personnel to be part of the Sector Support Staff during periods when additional staffing is needed. This involves having specific skills, training, and readiness to deploy quickly to support various Coast Guard missions and operations. Within this environment I receive employee criteria forms from numerous departments with immediate needs. I run reports in our Human Resource Data System as well as our Learning Management System to find the top qualified matches for the needed positions. Further, honing down and ultimately selecting the best candidates for the position all within a very short time frame of days as deadlines are imperative in these dynamic mobilization settings. My job rating as a Yeoman in the CG has given me extensive experience in creating travel orders, arrangements, travel claims, working with payroll, insurance and educational requirements for all Coast Guard members ranging from newly enlisted to high ranking officers.
