I am a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Pharmacy. I practice psychiatric clinical pharmacy and participate in interdisciplinary teaching rounds partnered with Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Washington University in Saint Louis School of Medicine. I joined SIUE from the New York State Office of Mental Health and the University at Buffalo, State University of New York where I completed residencies in pharmacy practice and psychiatry. I am a graduate of Purdue University College of Pharmacy. Areas of clinical interest include treatment of severe and persistent mental illness and comorbid medical conditions, substance use disorders, drug-induced psychosis, and adjunctive pharmacotherapy for prevention and management of psychiatric crisis situations. I aim to communicate the fundamentals of psychopharmacology while serving as a role model for an empathetic approach in participating in the care of individuals challenged with mental illness.I am the Coordinator of Global Partnerships for SIUE School of Pharmacy. In this role I support academic international partnerships including medical mission advanced pharmacy practice experiences. I am the lead preceptor for SIUE School of Pharmacy's Guatemala academic medical mission trip partnered with Saint Louis University School of Medicine and local Guatemalan healthcare providers.
