In Acts 20:35, the Lord reminds us, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Throughout my life, I was only confident of one thing. I feel more accomplished and happy when I am helping another person.Aloha, my name is Misty Marchant! When I was younger, I remember in middle school advisory class we started off each morning with a journal topic. I still clearly recall one day we were told to write about our life goals. I wrote, “Make everyone happy!” and as my teacher came around to read each of our goals she asked me if that’s my only goal and if it is, I need to be more realistic. I didn’t understand how impossible this goal was to reach until I matured, but my goal is similar, “Help everyone that I can.” For a little longer than half a year now, I have been working as a customer service representative of the Christian-based non-profit organization, Chocolate on a Mission. After a couple months of being here, I realized that this type of work environment is where I strive. Not only do I get to work directly with chocolate (which I love very much), but the best part is being able to help the homeless behind the scenes. Because we are a smaller business, I have had the chance to grow my skill set and knowledge in different areas. As of today, my skill set ranges from creating reports on Excel to editing product photos in Photoshop to costing new products customized by customers. I plan to keep improving on these skills and continue to open up my mind to new ideas, so that I can be helpful no matter where I am!
