•Formulate and produce complete electrical design package, which includes detailed electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics, cable routing diagrams, panel layouts, bills of materials and material requisitions, based on ATS standard specifications and the customers’ requirements.•Work with mechanical designers during mechanical design process to design a control system that will enable the machine to perform its intended function safely and reliably.•Work with other members of the Controls Engineering Department and other groups to continuously improve methods of integrating controls technology, with the goals being enhanced safety, enhanced functionality and reduced cost.•Work with other members of the Controls Engineering Department and other groups to ensure that labour budgets and material budgets are adhered to or improved upon.•Specify all electrical and controls-related hardware and software and produce requisitions for material purchases.•Integrate third party equipment and electronic component entry into electrical design packages. Examples include serial and network communications, hardware handshaking, opto-isolation, electrical and ultrasonic welding applications, vision systems, motion control products, transducers and signal conditioners.•Verify that electrical design package is complete, accurate and safe based on sound design practices and accepted standards, and that the I/O drawings meet program requirements prior to issue to shop floor.•Work with customers, project managers, designers, toolmakers and electricians to solve problems in order to provide the customer with a complete, functional system.•Work with other members of the Controls Engineering Department and other groups to continuously improve methods of integrating controls technology.•Provide customers with training specific to their current project (i.e. electrical hardware, machine operation, programming principles, program functionality and program structure).

•Design and test PLC programs for our automated waste management systems. Follow safety oriented programming practices including pressure, and temperature limits, door interlock for scraper and redundancy. •Create HMI programs according to clients’ requirements. Include specific features such as data logging, bilingualism(English and French) and password protection•Prepare electrical schematics, P&ID, Bills of Materials, Control Panel Layout, and Cause & Effect sheet. Review electrical engineering plans and perform modifications to ensure compliance with the Canadian Electrical Code and Met Lab certification. •Technical Software: Studio 5000, RsLogix 500, RsLinx, FactoryTalk View Studio, Connected Components Workbench, DirectSOFT 6, C-More, AutoCAD, Draftsight, Ms Word, Ms Excel.•Develop, test and operate power equipment and electrical process control systems for industrial solvent recycling and recovery machines.•Use standard test equipment, including multimeter and megger to diagnose, analyze, and troubleshoot faults and performance issues in electrical systems and components.•Perform high-pot (dielectric) testing of main control box for recycling system. Use the procedure prescribed by MetLab for a system under and over 250 Voltage rating. •Calibrate electrical equipment and instruments used for control panels according to technical manuals and electrical schematics•Travel to customer sites to provide technical support during startup and installations and support customers (phone, and in person) on the operation of equipment. Facilitate customer service issues as they arise•Write specifications, prepare technical reports and recommend solutions to technical problems as required.•Participate in team meetings as required on engineering projects to ensure that deadlines are met on the project tracker, and all modifications are up to date.
