About Michael Thompson (Mr. T)

I am a successful, proven, experienced, and well-rounded Independent IT Professional working as both an IT Trainer and Technical IT Consultant doing project and integration / implementation work. I have been exposed to a wide variety of technologies and environments, acquired a wealth of experience, and am enjoying much success. I currently spend the majority of my working time as an IT Trainer, with most of my classes being for the military. All my classes have been Instructor-Led until early 2020, where they have now become a mix of in-person, and virtual / online. I am typically also working on a few projects at any given time. I possess many current valid IT Certifications from Cisco Systems, CompTIA, and Microsoft. I strive to always bring both a positive attitude, and a healthy dose of security to whatever I am doing. I am a self-starter, am self-motivated by nature, and can work both independently and as part of a group or team.

    I spent three fun years in the private members only Igloo Club as the beverage purchasing manager. I had an awesome staff that I managed, as well as great relationships with all of the upper-management and other staff in general. I managed eight bars and a warehouse in which I ordered everything, including the stock for the private suites, or luxury boxes. This job also demanded an immense attention to detail as with any job where you are responsible for purchasing, inventory, and auditing. I totally restructured the entire operation. Books were balanced for the first time in many years and I was able to eliminate theft with my new inventory system.

    I was a Project Manager for all of the Heinz Field catering functions. We setup rooms, buffets, and banquets for the Football games also, although football was only about 20 days out of the year. This was a Full-Time job with a great deal of overtime, and multi-million dollar yearly catering sales made for much more work than most people would think. This was easily the most physically demanding job I have ever had, but it was a lot of fun also. I obtained some excellent project management experience during my time here. I was told by my boss that I was the best hiring decision the company ever made since he was hired there!
