Key Responsibilities & Contributions:* Effectively worked in close coordination with the CCM team in performing tests on components of proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cells. Testing involved the assessment of durability of fuel cell’s catalyst layers. Employed a laser and optical microscope to characterize layers, along with performing tensile testing, porosity testing, and ensuring catalyst inks met product specifications.* Performed data analysis and maintained a database of all collected data, entering new information as needed, and presenting the data back to the team. Compared the pros and cons of performance of the final CCM design against composition, structure, and process history. * Assisted with overall laboratory operations. Worked with other groups supporting them in their roles, and developing operating procedure manual for new particle size testing equipment imported in the laboratory. Worked extensively with particle size analyzers, mercury intrusion porosimeter, and measured variations of old and new equipment. Competently maintained industrial safety practices in the lab.
