In my role with Legendary Capital I established a reputation for excellence in the management of the company's Accounting and Finance department. Legendary is a real estate investment firm specializing in alternative investment funds, real estate investment trusts (REITs), opportunity zone investments, and debt funds. My role involves direct oversight of a diverse, high-performance team as well as all financial reporting and regulatory compliance activities. This includes audits, planning quarterly reviews and tax return filings, directing the budget planning and forecasting process, and managing all treasury functions such as multi-bank cash balances and loan negotiations. I also serve as primary liaison and delivering high quality presentations to the C-level executive team to help drive innovative strategies to maximize long-term company success.During my time with the company I made a number of major contributions such as spearheading a variety of process changes that improved the management of Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reporting activities, compliance efforts, and designing an effective internal control structure. I also pioneered a regimented month-end close process that significantly reduced close timing and maximized accuracy and timeliness for all entries and financial reports, and developed a highly efficient procedure that allowed for easier production of monthly consolidated financial statements. Finally, I forged stronger relationships with several key banking and lending partners as well as other business stakeholders.

At Caliber I managed all aspects of financial reporting and regulatory compliance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment for this leading real estate company focused on residential and commercial assets, real estate investment, brokerage, construction, and development. My role included extensive collaboration with accounting staff and executives to effectively support the monthly financial close process through detailed review of journal entries, financial schedules, and General ledger reconciliations. I also directly handled a variety of other key tasks such as technical accounting research, communication, consolidation, revenue recognition, and capitalization.My achievements here include revolutionizing the company's entire financial reporting process through the design and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls that maximized timeliness and accuracy.

During my time in public accounting I established a track record of success in the management of high level financial and regulatory auditing activities for one of the world's largest accounting and consulting professional services firms. This involved direct oversight of financial statement audit and review engagements for both public and non-public companies in numerous industries while leading engagement teams through the client SEC review and filing process, performing fraud and risk analysis tasks, and collaborating with peers and senior managers to ensure clients had implemented effective internal controls. I also developed extensive accounting expertise during this time as well as strong communication, project management, relationship building, and business leadership skills.During my time with Grant Thornton I was quickly promoted to Audit Senior Associate and then to a role of Audit Manager from an initial role of Audit Associate. I also played a key role in the career and professional development of numerous junior auditors and helped new employees maximize their knowledge and skills.
