After no break between school, university and 4+ years working for Xstrata/Glencore, I took some time off to travel from Alaska to Patagonia to explore a couple corners of the world, recharging batteries for the next decade.

Completed the Xstrata graduate program early and was moved to Oaky North underground operation to replace two experienced contractors responsible for major longwall overhauls and various smaller projects across the operation. I was responsible for the end to end project planning and execution including preparing scopes/tender documents, expenditure justifications, contract management, procurement of parts, overseeing fabrication works, completing QA at key milestones, commissioning and performance testing.• Longwall Overhaul Mechanical Project Management - multiple projects from $10k to $7M simultaneously with tight, dynamic deadlines due to production pressure involving building relationships with onsite and offsite contractors (suppliers) coordination and supervision of all successfully delivered as production schedule required to internal clients. Responsible for project authorisation, scoping/planning, execution and close-out with frequent progress reporting. • Project team delivering $50M+ project for new face extension equipment - involved in design, contract management, cost control, acceptance testing and final modifications to meet site standards.• Reliability and Engineering technical support – utilise feedback from stakeholders and condition monitoring devices for designing and delivering solutions for continuous improvement in safety and productivity of equipment.
