My role within the company was a Service Technician. Some of my daily tasks were carrying out servicing , diagnosis and the repair of vehicles to excellent standards, communicating with the Service Reception team and Workshop Control, also speaking with customers on occasion to provide an expert, easily understood technical opinion.

Whilst working full time within the Mclaren production centre, on the P1 supercar I worked in many areas. On one of my stations I assembled most of the rear of the car, from exhausts to the suspension and braking system, radiators and air-con etc. As an experienced member of the Mclaren team I was often called upon to train up, or to oversee, new starters. I often helped out in all areas of the production, even out of hours, as I took targets and goals for the company personally. Other areas of the company of which I worked were, sub stations, engine and gearbox, doors, hybrid system and body work assembly and set up (geometry alignment). At first I was working alongside the development team producing the XP and PP cars, of which I had a big input on the creation of the process (production manual) and sorting any issues with engineers, from clashes to changes of fixings to access points. It is an important task to work as a team with engineers to construct the workshop manual effectively and efficiently. When with Mclaren I attended certain training courses such as hybrid systems, and manual handling.

I worked with the formula three team Double R Racing.I was responsible for the national class formula 3 car. My duties were to regularly maintain and set the vehicle to the specifications given by my engineer as to gear ratio’s, ride heights, corner weights and aerodynamics, etc. I would be on RR wheel or front jack man during any pit stops. I was delighted that my car received 1st place at the famous grand prix circuit of Spa within my first weeks with the team.
