About Mitch Hefter

Mitch has been working in entertainment and architectural lighting controls for his entire career. He has held various roles including system design, custom equipment design and applications, project management, and compliance. Mitch is very active in standards development. Mitch is a founding and still serving member of the ESTA Technical Standards Program - ANSI standards developer E1, and co-chairs the ESTA Electrical Power Working Group. As Engineering Commissioner for USITT, he oversaw the development of USITT DMX512. He also chairs the ANSI E1 DMX512 Revision Task Group and the IES Lighting Control Systems Committee.Mitch has worked on updates to the National Electrical Code since 1981, chairing the USITT 1987 NEC Committee, is a principal member to NEC Panel 15 representing IES and is the alternate member to NEC Panel 13 representing USITT.
