Mitch began his career in the oil patch by working with various seismograph crews to help finance his college education. Upon earning a BS degree in Geology from the University of Northern Colorado in 1983, he joined Continental Energy Resources and continued to contribute to the success of various independents such as Terra Resources (Pacific Enterprises), American Hunter, Snyder Oil, Central Resources, EXCO, Fidelity E&P and Three Forks Resources. He has gained over 30 years of experience throughout the Rocky Mountain, Mid-Continent, Texas and Gulf of Mexico Regions studying the geologic, petrophysical, and geophysical aspects of numerous hydrocarbon accumulations. He is well versed in both conventional and unconventional resource plays.Mitch gained extensive management experience at Fidelity while directing multi-disciplined exploration, development and acquisition teams. He managed several hundred million dollar annual budgets simultaneously in the Rocky Mountain and Gulf Coast Regions. Mitch played an integral part in Fidelity’s success in the Bakken play and their entry into the Cane Creek play and other unconventional plays currently under evaluation. His experience as a partner at Three Forks Resources exposed him to the inner workings of private equity partnerships. Mitch also conducted the geological evaluation of hundreds of oil and gas acquisitions throughout the Rocky Mountain and Texas regions during his tenure. While successfully growing company value from prospect generation through producing property acquisition evaluations, Mitch has gained a solid understanding of the business side of the upstream oil and gas industry.
