Cegal & Blueback Reservoir merged in August 2014 to become the most innovative provider of IT services and Geoscience Solutions to the global oil and gas industry. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:- Ensuring the implementation and alignment of business strategies for company products and services at a regional level- Supporting all regional business operations.

Hired in October 2007 to create a Blueback Reservoir business in the UK. Prior to this, Blueback was established only in Norway.The initial business model was based around Geoconsultancy, taking advantage of the growing geomodelling market. At Blueback's peak, we had 14 billable consultants in London & Aberdeen.This G&G consultancy model however was not.

Managed a team of 14 geomodelling consultants who were based in London, Aberdeen, Cairo & Lagos. My remit was to keep these consultants employed in billable work and to meet some aggressive revenue targets. Other aspects of the position included:- Client management of all European & African clients with respect to service work.- Provision of budgetary.

Based in London and responsible for all aspects of new business development within Europe – this includes client account management, all software sales, training and identifying mid to long-term consultancy projects. Major success stories were:- The sole negotiator in winning an $800K software deal in Europe. This was then tied up with a $200K annual.

January 2004 – April 2004: ECA Petrel Technical Manager (Schlumberger)Duties included actively promoting Petrel into the ECA region. This involved delivering technical demos and coordinating Pre-Sales activities. I also had a fairly wide remit to devise new Petrel workflows for targeted clients.January 2002 – Dec 2003: ECA Support Manager, Petrel Software.

April 2001 – January 2002: Senior G&G Technical Consultant, Landmark.Workflow Consultant, based onsite at Anadarko, Uxbridge. Duties included:- Identification of problem areas and bottlenecks in workflows. Followed up by recommendation and documentation of efficient alternatives.- Rollout of new Landmark software including demonstrations and training..

A member of the Exploration Resource team, the central pool of expertise at the London office. Duties involved:- Computer mapping, reserves calculations, data loading, data management and data manipulation.- Assignment to asset teams as and when required.- Specific responsibility for loading procedures and the loading of all project data loaded to.

Worked on the Scott/Telford North Sea asset team where main duties included computer mapping using ZMAP+ and correlation construction using StratWorks. Provided quality output and support for the Geologists, Geophysicists and Engineers in the team.
