System monitors fuel levels in underground storage tanks and facilitates efficient dispatching of fuel orders. Tank reading data is received from multiple sources (Web, phone, email, or FTP) and then translated and processed by a Visual Basic program which projects future inventory levels and estimates when fuel orders need to be placed. Calculates lowest fuel cost for every customer by finding lowest combination of supplier price and mileage-based freight rate between supply terminals and customer locations. Routes orders to the appropriate supplier via fax or email. Tracks order status and proactively highlights process exceptions to allow quick resolution. Customer-facing pages allow customers to obtain pricing, place orders, view tank levels, and track order status (depending on security permissions) in real time.
