As part of the Commissioning Group at Babcock Canada, I was responsible for conducting and overseeing mechanical tests for the Victoria Class Submarine systems. Examples of this work includes tank pressure tests, lifting lug load tests, anode continuity checks, etc. The Commissioning Group is ultimately responsible for ensuring work done by the production team is adequate and the vessel is ready for harbor and sea trials.

I completed various drafting and design projects while working at Babcock Canada. I used Solidworks and AutoCAD to create new drawings when necessary and database management software Oracle to find existing drawings. Example project is the design of an attack periscope blanking tube to plug the periscope gland in the event that the submarine undock prior to the completion of the attack periscope. Plug was designed to withstand harbor depth water pressures and fit onto existing studs.

- Worked at Irving Shipbuilding Inc. as part of Final Year Engineering Design Project. Developed a method to solve the problem of inaccurate scheduling techniques due to variability in shipbuilding. Programmed a tool using Microsoft Excel and VBA that would allow scheduling staff to visualize the impact of scheduling decisions. - Conducted design reviews, held brainstorming sessions, and effectively developed all aspects of the tool to the point of implementation at the facility. - Was awarded the Eldon Gunn Project In Industry Award for the Excellence in Senior Year Engineering Design Project

Belleville, Ontario

- Applied technical knowledge and communication skills to design and 3D print new assembly line component that would improve product quality. The component would replace an existing device, and provide more compression to the foam core before stitching, lowering the chance of loose stitches. Researched reliable and economic 3D printing companies and gave Procter & Gamble a new contact for any 3D print needs in the future. - Coordinated meetings with contractors and arranged line downtime to install an assembly line defect rejection unit that would reduce unnecessary stops.

- Updated layout of mail processing depots around Vancouver and Victoria, as mail carriers routes often change. The new layout would be completed in AutoCAD, reviewed by the supervisor of the depot, and carried out if satisfactory. - Provided support for the new mail processing facility in Richmond, BC by helping to set up the international parcel center.
