Mitchel is currently Counsel (Co-Head, Dispute Resolution), in Gateway’s Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property Practice Groups. He is also admitted to the Singapore Bar as an advocate and solicitor of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Singapore.Mitchel is extremely passionate about the law, and especially all things Intellectual Property (“IP”) related. Mitchel currently handles a broad spectrum of legal work, including litigation and dispute resolution. Where it concerns IP specifically, he is presently handling and/or has handled Patent, Trade Mark and Copyright infringement cases before the High Court of Singapore, amongst other forums (i.e. Singapore International Arbitration Centre). Mitchel’s knowledge and expertise also spans extensively into IP related contracts such as franchising, licensing and technology transfer agreements, to name a few.In his latest roles, Mitchel has had the opportunity to build deep networks and knowledge in relation to anti-piracy and anti-counterfeiting enforcement matters too. Mitchel has been recognised as an IP Expert within the APAC and ASEAN communities and has also taken up external IP consultancy projects and mentorship roles with various Korean government organisations (e.g. KIPA and KDI), the ASEAN Youth Organisation (“AYO”) and the World Intellectual Property Office (“WIPO”). One of Mitchel’s proudest achievements (i.e. being recognised as a young leading IP Practitioner), would be a profile and interview article he did recently with WIPO, and which was published in WIPO’s June 2022 Newsletter and website.Mitchel is also passionate about giving back to his community and his industry and has been appointed as a mentor and speaker by some of his former alma maters and other renowned tertiary institutions including St. Hilda’s Primary School, St. Andrew’s Junior College, Murdoch University, Fulbright University (Vietnam) and Durham University, to name a few.
