I started as an engineering aid prototyping advanced electronic control circuits and writing firmware in college. I was then hired as a junior engineer before completing my undergrad studies. I was promoted to Assistant Director of Robotics Research and Artificial Intelligence at the NY Institute of Technology.I designed hardened factory floor data terminals for shop floor management for a local company. They hired me as their Manager of R+D, and I developed a new product line based on PC hardware to meet the demand for smaller, less expensive systems instead of minicomputers. I created a custom application program / system that was one of the first Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for use in both union and non-union shops.After completing this product and the company being sold to a series of investors, I started my own company that provided custom hardware/software design. This morphed into an IT organization, where we provided system solutions and service contracts to the SMB market. I developed several custom software solutions as well as installed thousands of nodes of networked computers. After nearly ten years working for myself, I was hired by a global electronics company as an Engineering Manager to provide embedded and firmware design expertise. After building a solid team, I set my sights on the company's data systems. I was promoted to Director of Network Operations, where I stabilized many of the in-house systems, and created a proper data center. Within a few months, I was promoted to Chief Information Officer, where I became responsible for the company's ERP system, custom application development, and IT at all of the global sites.I have taken CISSP trainings and then was promoted to Chief Information Security Officer in parallel with CIO. I have developed a powerful multi-tiered security system and team that keeps watch over and protects our global network. We have embraced the cloud and have used a conservative approach for its use. We prepped and received our ISO27001 security certification and have developed a BC/DR system. I love challenges!
